About

COMMON AIR is a curated, residency-based cultural studio with closed-door, speakeasy-style rhythm, accessible only through scheduled use, activated by a small number of creative programs that share values of intentionality, low-footprint production, and cultural contribution.

COMMON AIR is a peer-led, collectively-authored cultural space located in the heart of Poblenou, operating under a residency-based model, a quiet incubator for creative programs to evolve in a broader international network with care. The physical space reflects a contemporary ethos — it is modular and flexible, designed to shift with each program, allowing for constant reconfiguration. Lightweight furnishings, and shared surfaces offer residents the ability to shape the environment as needed: for installations, group readings, collective meals, publishing, screenings, or independent work. There is no fixed layout — only a common structure in motion.

COMMON AIR is a shared acting field. Residents are selected based on alignment in values: low-footprint production, cultural contribution, and long-form thinking. While the founding initiative and operational leadership is provided by Amber (founder of NAKED SPACE), the identity and rhythm of COMMON AIR will be co-authored by its residents, who commit to activating the space through shared formats. All programs retain full authorship, with no hierarchy beyond shared care and mutual respect. Peer leadership defines not just how the space is used, but how it is managed and imagined.
